ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: COMET LEMMON FROM COBBLE BEACH
I captured this image from Cobble Beach on the morning of October 16th. I’ve seen some really amazing images of this comet, and while my foreground might seem a little plain in comparison, this spot holds a lot of meaning for me. It’s been one of my go-to places for astrophotography for nearly a decade, and it just so happened to line up perfectly with the comet rising in the morning. It felt meant to be. Since then, Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) has continued to brighten and develop some really interesting changes in its ion and dust tails, but the weather here hasn’t given me another clear opportunity. I’m glad I managed to get out for this one, as it turned out to be my only real chance to capture it from my location. Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) was discovered in January 2025 by the Mount Lemmon Survey in Arizona. It’s a long-period comet originating from the distant Oort Cloud, currently making its way through the inner solar system and putting on a striking display for those lucky enough to catch it under clear skies.
